Please read the following rules and instructions carefully before upgrading.

• MAJOR UPGRADES: Upgrading from SimpleIndex 1.x - 5.x to SimpleIndex 6 requires you to obtain a new serial number.  Be sure to contact us and obtain your new serial number before upgrading an activated PC.
   
• MINOR UPGRADES: Upgrading from 6.x to the latest release can be done by downloading and installing the latest version. Annual maintenance and re-registration are not required. You do not need to uninstall the current version--just download the latest setup and reinstall.
   
• ANNUAL MAINTENANCE: Customers with Annual Maintenance paid in full for all licensed Simple Software products in their organization may obtain major upgrades for free.
   
• Customers without current maintenance may pay outstanding annual maintenance fees at any time and become current to obtain upgrades.  Contact your sales representative to find the maintenance status of your Simple Software products.
   
• If you have installed an upgrade and do not have maintenance, you may uninstall and reinstall the previous version without needing to re-register.

Upgrading from version 6.x to the latest version 6 release

1. Download and install SimpleIndex 6
   You do not need to uninstall or obtain a new Serial Number before performing the upgrade. Just download the new setup and reinstall.

Upgrading from version 5.4 - 5.9 to SimpleIndex 6

1. Contact us or your SimpleIndex Authorized Dealer to receive a new Serial Number.
    
2. Download and install SimpleIndex 6
   You do not need to uninstall previous versions.
    
3. Enter your new Serial Number and activate online

Upgrading from version 5.4 - 5.8 to 5.9

1. Download and install SimpleIndex 5.9
   You do not need to uninstall or obtain a new Serial Number before performing the upgrade. Just download the new setup and reinstall.

Upgrading from version 5.3 or below to SimpleIndex 6

1. Contact us or your SimpleIndex Dealer to receive a new Serial Number
    
2. Uninstall your current version of SimpleIndex
    
3. Download and install the latest version SimpleIndex
    
4. Enter your serial number and activate online

Users with SimpleQC, SimpleSend and SimpleCoversheet

Please follow the upgrade procedures for SimpleIndex 6 to upgrade to SimpleSend 2.0, SimpleCoversheet 2.0 or SimpleQC 3.0.
