Three editions, four ways to license each of them, and the add-ons and apps that attach to any of them. Every price here is the price in the store. If you are new to SimpleIndex and want the short version first, the two main editions are on one simpler page.
Which edition includes which capability
The three editions differ mainly in the engine reading the page. Zone OCR is only as good as the engine reading the zone: Standard's engines make a document searchable, OCR adds ABBYY FineReader so printed values can be trusted, and Professional adds the cloud services and language models for the documents a zone template cannot describe. Unattended processing is a separate add-on for any of the three.

Four ways to license each edition
The edition decides what the software can do. The licensing model decides how you pay for it and how many people share it. Every edition is available under every model, and the software is the same in all of them. Each price links to its product.

Workstation and concurrent licenses are perpetual. The version you install keeps running for as long as you have a Windows machine to run it on. Support and updates (maintenance, on your invoice) are the part that renews, and we email a reminder ahead of the date rather than charging you.
Concurrent suits shift work, and sites where several people scan occasionally rather than one person all day. Install it on as many machines as you like and pay for the number running at the same time.
Subscription is the same software billed once a year instead of once up front, with support and updates included for as long as it runs.
Add unattended processing to a license you already have
The Server licenses above are an edition and Server bought together. If you already own a Standard, OCR or Professional license, the add-on gives it the same unattended processing without replacing anything.

Professional reads more. Server runs without anyone there. They automate different halves of the job, and plenty of sites buy one without the other. Professional decides what the software reads off the page. Server decides whether anyone has to be at the keyboard when it runs. A Standard license with Server runs barcode jobs overnight with nobody present; a Professional license without it reads difficult documents with an operator watching. That is why Server appears as an add-on and as a license row, and never as a column beside the editions.
The add-on price includes the first year of support and updates, the same as the editions.
The suite apps, sold on their own
A Professional workstation license activates SimpleWorkflow, SimpleExport, SimpleCoversheet and SimpleView with no separate serial numbers. Each is still sold on its own, so a Standard site that only needs QuickBooks does not have to move up an edition.

SimpleExport, SimpleCoversheet and SimpleView each have a free version that stays free on its own; Professional includes the full one. Those three and SimpleSearch are priced with their first year of support and updates included; SimpleWorkflow is priced without it. The suite apps come with Professional workstation licenses only, and none is covered by a concurrent SimpleIndex license.

Preconfigured jobs built on SimpleIndex for documents we see often. Most are free and install with the sample jobs. Each one names the edition it needs, because a job that reads values by pattern or delivers by email needs the edition that does those things.
Safety data sheets
ConfigurationReads vendor, product name and CAS number, checks them against a database, and files safety data sheets as searchable PDF.
SimpleInvoice
ConfigurationFinds each vendor's invoice number by its own pattern and captures what accounts payable needs, with QuickBooks through SimpleWorkflow.

Before you pick a combination
Is the OCR edition Professional with features taken out?
It is Standard with the ABBYY FineReader engine added, so printed values can be read accurately enough to file by. Professional adds the cloud services, language models, dynamic OCR, mark and handprint recognition, ISIS, SharePoint, email, QuickBooks and the suite apps on top.
Can I move to a bigger edition later?
Yes, by buying the edition you are moving to. A Standard site that needs Professional buys a Professional license.
Can I move from a workstation license to concurrent?
By buying the concurrent license. A workstation license does not convert into a concurrent one.
Does the Server add-on need its own machine?
No. It runs as a Windows service on whichever machine holds the license, so that can be the same machine an operator works at during the day, or a server nobody logs into.
Why don't concurrent licenses include the suite apps?
A floating license entitles a number of seats that only the license server can hand out, so an app activating itself from a local copy would let every machine share one seat. A concurrent site buys the apps it needs on their own.
What does cloud OCR cost on top of the license?
The provider bills per page on your own account, at its published rate. We charge nothing per page. A self-hosted language model has no per-page cost at all.
