The Processing stage is started automatically after Scanning or Import has completed.

Automated processing performs the following tasks in the following order:

  1. Each file is processed according to the batch Sort Order.
  2. Image Clean-Up
  3. Full-Page OCR
  4. Each index field is processed in order, as defined on the Indexing & File Naming screen, based on its Field Type.
  5. Bar Code Recognition
  6. Zone OCR
  7. Template matching
  8. Dictionary matching
  9. Autofill lookups
  10. Fixed field calculation

The time it takes to perform automated processes depends on:

  • Number of Image Clean-Up options
  • Number of Zone OCR fields
  • Size of dictionary matching lists
  • Speed of Autofill lookups
  • Certain Fixed field values take time to read from documents
  • TIFF and PDF files over 500 pages can significantly impact performance
  • Batch size, especially batches over 1,000 pages

In this case, the user may do work in another application while processing and return to the batch once processing is finished.

After processing, a Pre-Index batch starts the Export process immediately. Otherwise, the manual image and data Verification review process starts.
