Document Properties

From Simple Wiki

Various Document Properties can be read from files using the Fixed field type, or written to exported files using the Set File Properties option.

Built-in Windows NTFS file properties can be set for:

  • Title
  • Author
  • Subject
  • Keywords
  • Comments

These will appear in the Details tab of the File Properties when you right-click the file in Windows Explorer.

For MS Office and PDF files, these values will also be shown in the File Properties dialog in their native applications.

PDF files can read or write to Form Fields in order to collect data from PDF Forms, or create new PDF files automatically by merging data from a Database, XML, or JSON into a blank PDF form template.

Additional PDF Properties allow you to detect files that are signed, encrypted, invalid, contains a form, scanned image, or PDF/A format.

For image files, you can also read or write any valid TIFF, EXIF, IPTC, or GPS tag.
