OCR to Field

From Simple Wiki
(Redirected from Point and click OCR)

When OCR to Field is selected from the Mouse Action menu, drawing a rectangle on the displayed image performs OCR on the region, inserts the result into the current index field, and moves the cursor to the next field.

This makes it very quick and easy to read index information from the image manually when automatic processing is not an option.

When viewing PDF files with text in the SimpleView viewer, you can simply click on the image to transfer the word under the cursor to the current index field. Since this uses the existing text, it works instantly and is the fastest way to manually index documents.

Hold the shift key to click multiple words. Let go of the shift key before clicking the last word to copy the phrase to the index field.

For image files or long text, click and drag the mouse to draw a box around the desired value to perform OCR on the region and insert the result in the index field.
